The ASM2016 will welcome researchers, students, Inuit, Northerners, policy makers and stakeholders to address the numerous environmental, social, economical and political challenges and opportunities that are emerging from climate change and modernization in the Arctic.

Inuit Culture Night
You are invited to join Kate Snow and co-presenters from the Eastern and Western Canadian Arctic to the ASM2016 Inuit Culture Night. The focus this year will be on the connections among sustainable use and conservation of native food resources, food security and Arctic research. This event is being generously hosted by the Winnipeg Art Gallery December 6 from 7:30-9:30 pm in the Skylight Room. There will be light snacks and beverages available.
Arctic Inspiration Prize Ceremony
On the evening of Thursday, 8 December 2016 at 8 pm, all conference attendees are invited to the fifth annualAward Ceremony at the Winnipeg Centennial Concert Hall. In the presence of His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, the Governor General of Canada, please join co-hosts Canadian Olympian Clara Hughes and Andrea Brazeau of Nunavik for an exciting evening featuring a performance of Vincent Hoâ€™s Arctic Symphony by the in collaboration with the students. Admission is included with ASM registration and transportation will be provided.
WOMEN IN NORTHERN SCIENCE RECEPTION
is pleased to host a Reception to celebrate Women in Northern Science Thursday December 8 between 5:00 pm â€“ 6:30 pm. This event will feature complimentary hors dâ€™oeuvres and a cash bar followed by a Panel discussion and informal interactive session in relaxed atmosphere.
